What is this game?
An all-time college basketball draft. You fill a starting five from programs across the sport's history, then play a season and a bracket to find out whether it survives March.
Which programs and years can I draft?
Programs from across the sport rather than only the blue bloods, and seasons from the sport's early decades to the current one. Every card is one real college year, scored on what that year produced.
Is a four-year player worth more than a one-and-done?
Here you draft a single season, so a freshman year that carried a team counts exactly as much as a senior year that did. It is one of the few places those two careers can be compared honestly.
Why does the bracket matter so much?
Because a perfect regular season means nothing if you lose once in March. A single-elimination tournament ends runs that a league schedule would have forgiven, which is what makes 40-0 as rare as it is.
What is the daily college basketball board?
One shared five per calendar day, dealt identically to everybody. Same programs, same order, so the results compare cleanly.
Are college and pro careers mixed?
Never. This board scores what a player did in college, full stop. Plenty of the best college seasons ever played belong to players who were ordinary professionals, and that is exactly the point.
How many college basketball programs can you draft from?
277 programs are on the board — the largest program list on the site — each split into real eras. That breadth is why a spin can land on a blue-blood dynasty or a one-season run.
Can one team mix players from different eras?
Yes. Five seats can hold a 1980s guard beside a modern big, because each is drafted from the era the reel landed on rather than from one roster.
What makes a good college roster here?
With five seats and a huge program list, the strongest available player is almost always the right pick. Forcing a positional fit costs more here than in the twelve-seat sports.
Do you need to follow current college basketball to play?
No. The archive opens in the 1940s, and college careers are short enough that most eras hold names a fan of that decade would recognise and a modern viewer would not.
What honours are recorded on a college basketball card?
Consensus All-American, Wooden Award, Naismith College Player of the Year among them. With a short season and a bracket at the end, honours are often what separates two otherwise similar years.
How deep is the college basketball pool?
From 1942 across hundreds of programs, with 273 hall-of-fame figures. Careers last three or four years, so the archive holds far more names than seasons.
